Translator's Notes
Disclaimers and Notes
-I'm in no way affiliated with Oliver Evans or Nijisanji in any way.
-Because Prof is fluent in English himself, he sometimes tweets an English version of a Japanese tweet (he previously tweeted). In this case, I do not translate the "og" Japanese text to avoid confusion. (If I do by mistake, I'll delete my tweet asap).
-Due to time zone issues, TLs will most likely not be in real time. I ask for your understanding that Prof tweets around 3-4am my time, and I can only kill my sleep schedule during break ;-;
-As much as I enjoy watching streams and watching people play games, I'm not much of a gamer myself. So I am really sorry if I mess up any of the characters' names or in game terms.
I try my best to research English equivalencies, but sometimes they're not as easy to find; if you find any errors please do not hesitate to comment or DM me!
-I translate puns into English that work in English, so often times the puns are not direct TLs. I'll try to give an explanation of the Japanese pun as well as provide a direct TL of it in the replies. I realize different translators have different translating policies when it comes to puns, so please do not hesitate to shoot me a DM if you find any of my localizations inappropriate.
FAQs
Can I request a Translation?
>Depends. I am more than happy to TL tweets/interviews/content that are Professor related!
If it is another Nijisanji streamer, I ask that you try asking a fan Translator who regularly translates that said streamer, as they would have more knowledge and contexts to provide more accurate translations. If you cannot find one (or they reject your request) you can send me a screenshot/link to it and I'll see if it is within my abilities to translate. This applies to anything/anyone other than streamers as well, artists/interviews/YouTubers or just general translations.
Note, I do not translate:
1) NSFW content
2) Pirated mangas/content
3) Anything outside of my abilities (extreme level of jargon)
4) Anything that is pulled out of context with malicious intent. (Example: Original text is "I find people who are straightforward with their feelings to be attractive", but screenshot is clipped so it only shows "People who are straight... Attractive")
What's your experience in Translating (how do I know your translations are accurate?)
>I've been translating for 5 years now. I'm Japanese (grew up in Japan) but I am currently studying in the States. I've done a couple series for manga translations and a few Vtuber clips, as well as a few official documents for companies. However, this doesn't make me an exception from mistakes, so if anything feels out of touch, please do not hesitate to DM. (I sometimes do not get notification for replies so please send me a DM in this case).
Can I reference your translation somewhere else?
>Yes, however, please do not claim them as yours.
